General description
Rhodamine B is a xanthene dye, which functions as a water tracer fluorescent. It is used as a colorant in textiles and food stuffs. Rhodamine B is associated with eye, skin and respiratory tract irritation.[2] It is used as a biomarker in oral rabies vaccine
Application
Rhodamine B has been used:
- to represent fluorescence of tetra methyl rhodamine (TMR)
- in the preparation of adhesive resin for confocal laser scanning microscopy
- as a fluorescent dye in intrahemolymph dye dosing and retinal image acquisition
- to depict brain-specific dye capture
- for imaging targets
